CNC Engraving in Reading & Berkshire

CNC engraving brings a level of precision and detail to woodwork that hand carving simply can't match consistently. I offer a full CNC design and cutting service from my Reading workshop — you tell me what you want, I design it and cut it, and you receive a finished piece ready to use or gift. No need to supply files or have any technical knowledge. Just an idea is enough.

My CNC bed cuts up to 600mm × 900mm, which covers everything from small personalised gifts and coasters to large house name signs, door plaques, decorative wall panels and custom furniture features. I work primarily in oak, MDF and general hardwoods — the choice of material depends on where the piece will be used and the finish you want.

Materials

I work with solid oak (for premium, lasting pieces), MDF (for painted finishes or interior decoration), and a range of hardwoods. Oak engraves beautifully — the contrast between the cut and the surface is striking, especially with an oil finish. MDF is ideal for pieces that will be painted or used in indoor display settings.

The Process

Send me a description of what you want — or a rough sketch, a photo reference, or just words. I'll come back with a design for your approval before anything is cut. Once approved, most pieces are ready within a couple of days. Collection or local delivery within Reading and Berkshire is available.
